Here's some tips on how to transition your baby into their own room.
Firstly, we wouldn't recommend that you do this until your baby is over 6 months old, so as to follow safe sleep guidelines, as of course, make sure the bedroom itself is set up for safe sleep guidelines.
Start by transitioning in the day by having your baby take their naps in the cot, this way they can get used to the new sleeping environment.
Draw your curtains, try using some white noise and also a baby monitor. But always remember to check on them regularly.
After you've mastered the day time napping, it's time to go for the over night sleep. If after a couple nights, don't worry if it's not going to plan because you can always move back to your own room and try again in a couple of weeks time.
Now we know it's a big move, not just for baby but for parents as well, so don't be so hard on yourself, you'll know when it's the right time to make the move and good luck.
