How do I wash baby while umbilical cord is still attached?

You may want to opt for 'topping' and 'tailing' this involves using a wash cloth for the top half of your baby and a different one for the bottom half of your baby and you don't actually submerge them completely into the bath.
It's really important for you to gently clean around the cord area, but equally important is to make sure you dry this cord area with a clean dry towel afterwards.
So we're going to gently pat the area dry and the cord will eventually fall off some time between 5 and 15 days.
