3.) Always place your baby to sleep with their feet to the foot of the cot (or Moses basket) Ideally using a sleeping bag. This will prevent your child from wiggling down underneath any sheet which could increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome.

4.) Secure tall furniture and TVs to your wall. There has been a number of tragic cases where toddlers have been crushed by furniture that they have tried to climb up so to be on the safe side it's best to invest in some anti-tip furniture straps.

5.) Be wary of nappy sacks. They may seem very flimsy but it's easy for babies and toddlers to grab a hand full and accidentally suffocate themselves. So never ever store them within baby's reach - near the changing area, cot or anywhere where you baby may be left unattended.
